POSITION AVAILABLE: CHEF & LINE COOK

QUALIFICATIONS: CHEF
Minimum of 2 years experience as Chef in similar capacity.
Ability to prepare food orders following standard portioning and procedures, as well as meeting standard quality for taste, color, texture, consistency, etc.
Ability to control cost and reduce waste in the kitchen so as to maintain a desirable level of cost of sales. 
Ability to maintain cleanliness in the kitchen area.
Ability to work independently without the need for assistance. 
Ability to cooperate and collaborate with fellow kitchen staff. 
Ability to train and guide new cooks. 
Ability to act on customers' complaints regarding food. 
Ability to communicate with colleagues and superiors.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: CHEF
Checks available stocks before shifts begin to ensure the right quantities of food production are prepared.
Cooks food items on a batch production basis according to Max's Restaurant, Cuisine of the Philippines standard recipes.
Portions the batch according to Max's Restaurant, Cuisine of the Philippines standards.
Takes initiatives to help the management reduce the expense by minimizing food spoilage due to careless handling of food.
Trains and guides cooks in food preparation. 
Coordinates with Stock Clerk on needed supplies.
Plans and prepares Lunch Specials and Soups of the Day.
Ensures cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen.
Develops new menu and appropriate costing, when required.
Plans and divides cooking assignments among the Line Cooks and Kitchen Helpers.
Coordinates with the dining supervisor for party menus, additional orders/items, and dispatching of party menus.
Anticipates and plans for special occasions when full-house capacity is expected.
Makes recommendations on the addition and deletion of menu items.
Plans and costs employees' lunch menu (taken from selected menu items).
Ensures all equipment is being used properly and energy-saving techniques are being employed.
Coordinates with the Branch Manager on cost reduction and control systems and procedures.
Provides suggestions for improvement of the kitchen and the entire operation of the restaurant.
Monitors preparation, presentation, and proper handling of food based on standards and specifications.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Prepares ingredients needed for cooking.
Completes the daily inventory.
Cooks food orders according to proper procedures, portioning and presentation.
Refills the pantry chiller with necessary ingredients needed for line cooking.
Cooks food items as assigned by the Chef.
Takes initiative to help management reduce expenses by minimizing food spoilage due to careless handling of food.
Ensures proper use of all kitchen equipment to avoid unnecessary expense.
Assists co-workers in their duties when necessary.
Maintains cleanliness in the kitchen area.
Performs other duties as assigned.
